Our wooden playground play sets are manufactured from locally sourced yellow pine, imported first‑class wood. All timber is pressure‑treated (impregnated). Metal components in the wooden sets are powder‑coated in an electrostatic oven. Slides are made from fiberglass or polyethylene. Stair treads and landing platforms are fitted with patterned rubber over metal frames. All our wood‑metal playground sets are TSE certified and include a 2‑year usage warranty and a 5‑year spare‑part warranty from the manufacturer. What is impregnation? Impregnation is the process of introducing various chemicals into wood to protect it from decay, insects, and termites, extending its service life. The chemicals penetrate only the sapwood; heartwood remains naturally durable. Only sapwood may be impregnated. The process varies according to wood species, environment, and expected lifespan. In the dip‑treatment method, wood is fully submerged in a tank of impregnation solution, then allowed to cure for 24 hours. This method is fast, efficient, and economical, offering lower labor and storage costs compared with pressure systems, and is recommended for protecting untreated wood. Protective treatment aims to prevent fungal growth and insect infestation. For durability, finish coatings are recommended to maintain the impregnation effect over time. The impregnation chemical may slightly tint the wood but does not act as a pigment. In covered structures (e.g., picnic gazebo) protection lasts 1–2 years. For outdoor fixtures such as pergolas, benches, and picnic tables, protection lasts 6 months to 1 year. Filling Varnish - Reaches sanding hardness within 2–4 hours (depending on temperature and humidity). - Fills wood pores. - Provides a smooth surface. - Reduces absorption of the final topcoat, saving time and material. - Sands easily. Gloss Varnish - Gives the desired gloss and slip resistance. - Physically hard, resistant to scratches and impacts; chemically resistant to water, detergents, and other chemicals. - Final clear coat with high transparency and durability.
