Wood sections will be cut with a maximum tolerance of ±2 mm (0.1 in), and wood dimensions will be produced with a maximum tolerance of ±20 mm, in accordance with the project. The wood material used in manufacturing shall have the following characteristics: knots – each meter may contain up to four sound knots. The total diameter of the knots will not exceed one‑quarter of the total piece width. There will be no rot, fungus, partially split or fallen knots. Cracks – no ring cracks will be present. Microscopic cracks (1‑2 mm (0.1 in)) may occur. Pressure‑treated conditions may result in appropriate axial and transverse cracks, but they must remain within tolerance limits. Resin pockets – at most one per meter, not exceeding 10 cm (3.9 in) in length. No inner shell, rot cavities, or insect holes will be present. Manufacturing defects are not permitted; only deviations within the specified tolerances are allowed. Deflection – will not exceed 1/50 of the member length. Impact – will not exceed 1/100 of the member width. Twist – will not exceed 2 mm (0.1 in) per meter of length. Bending of the grain – will be tolerated between 1/50 and 1/100 of the member length. Sanding – all visible surfaces will be sanded and cleared of splinters. Main Carriers: The carrier legs will be made from four pieces of pine lumber, each at least 90 × 90 mm (3.5 x 3.5 in), machined with diamond‑tipped special blades that add a motif. Because the pergola is sloped, the heights of the carrier legs will be 220 cm (86.6 in) on one side and 240 cm (94.5 in) on the other. Roof: The carrying rafters of the pergola roof will be fabricated from 50 × 100 mm (2 x 3.9 in) wood. Two corners of each rafter will be routed to shape them. On top of the carrying rafters, 50 × 100 mm (2 x 3.9 in) decorative mullions shaped with diamond‑tipped special motif blades will be installed. All fixed connections will use special galvanized wood screws. Anchoring: A 150 × 150 × 5 mm (5.9 x 5.9 x 0.2 in) flange will be welded onto the bottom of each carrier leg, with a 90 × 70 × 5 mm (3.5 x 2.8 x 0.2 in) plate welded on top, and a 12 mm (0.5 in) diameter hole will be drilled. The anchors will be mounted to the carrier legs with screws and to the ground with steel dowels, preventing wood contact with water and securing the legs. Picnic gazebo anchors will be fabricated by welding flanges that wrap around at least two sides of a 3 mm (0.1 in) thick plate. Six special screws will be placed on each leg for connection to the verticals, and two dowel screws will be placed on each leg for ground attachment. All metal parts will be powder‑coated with a polyester‑based paint in a furnace.
