It is semi‑permeable, can be softened, and is highly durable. Its low cost and high resistance make it popular in industry. Polyethylene density and chemical properties define its classification. Mechanical properties depend on molecular weight, crystal structure, and branching. While characteristics vary by grade, it generally offers good resistance to outdoor conditions and moisture, flexibility, low mechanical strength, and excellent chemical resistance. Polyethylene components are used for slides, stairs, guardrails, barriers, accessories, roofs, etc. To prevent color fading, masterbatch pigments used for coloring must have a Lightfastness rating of 6 or higher. Minimum wall thickness is 6 mm (0.2 in) for parts exposed to pressure and friction, and 4 mm (0.2 in) for parts used only as barriers or shading. Thickness tolerance is ±5 %. Carrier Construction The supporting structure consists of steel tubes with a minimum diameter of 114 mm (4.5 in) and a minimum wall thickness of 2 mm (0.1 in), formed by cold shaping according to TS EN 10219‑2, TS‑6476, DIN 2394 standards, and welded by high‑frequency welding. Tubes are coated with a polyester‑based electrostatic powder paint applied in a sandblasted furnace. Electrostatic Powder Coating All metal components are first sandblasted to remove oil, grease, and rust, creating a porous surface for better paint adhesion. Fine steel shot is then sprayed with compressed air to open micro‑pores. After cleaning, components receive a polyester‑based electrostatic coating and are cured in a 200‑220 °C oven for 20 minutes. Subsequent treatments include a 10‑minute dip at 70 °C in a 5 % degreasing bath, followed by a 15‑minute dip at 50 °C in a 1 % iron bath, rinsing, and drying. Finally, the entire assembly is painted in a single coat to prevent corrosion at welds.
