It is semi‑permeable, pliable and highly durable, offering low cost and high resistance, making it popular in industry. Its classification depends on density and chemical properties. Mechanical properties vary with molecular weight, crystal structure and branching. Generally, it provides good resistance to outdoor conditions and moisture, flexibility, low mechanical strength and excellent chemical resistance. Polyethylene is used for slides, stairs, guardrails, barriers, accessories, roofs, etc. To prevent color fading, masterbatch pigments used must have a light fastness rating of 6 or higher. Wall thickness must be at least 6 mm (0.2 in) for parts subjected to pressure or friction, and at least 4 mm (0.2 in) for non‑load‑bearing barrier or shade components. Thickness tolerance is ±5 %. Carrier Construction The carrier structure consists of circular‑section steel tubes with a minimum outer diameter of 114 mm (4.5 in) and a minimum wall thickness of 2 mm (0.1 in), cold‑formed according to TS EN 10219‑2, TS‑6476, DIN 2394 standards, and welded by high‑frequency welding. Tubes are powder‑coated with a polyester‑based electrostatic finish. Electrostatic Powder Coat All metal components are cleaned by abrasive blasting to remove oil, dirt and rust, creating a porous surface for better paint adhesion. Fine steel shot is sprayed with compressed air to open micro‑pores and remove contaminants. After fabrication, components are coated with polyester‑based electrostatic powder and baked at 200‑220 °C for 20 minutes. Subsequent treatments include a 10‑minute dip at 70 °C in a 5 % solvent‑free degreasing bath, followed by a 15‑minute dip at 50 °C in a 1 % iron bath, rinsing, drying, and final baking at 180‑200 °C for 20‑30 minutes. Weld seams are fully painted to prevent corrosion.
