It is semi‑permeable, flexible, and highly durable, offering low cost and excellent resistance, which makes it popular in industry. Based on density and chemical properties, it is categorized into different grades. Its mechanical properties depend on molecular weight, crystalline structure, and branching type. While properties vary, it generally provides good resistance to outdoor conditions and moisture, flexibility, low mechanical strength, and superior chemical resistance. Polyethylene is used to manufacture slides, stairs, railings, barriers, accessories, roofs, etc. To prevent color fading, masterbatch pigments used for coloring must have a lightfastness rating of 6 or higher. The material thickness at points under pressure and friction must be at least 6 mm (0.2 in), while non‑load‑bearing barriers and shade structures require a minimum of 4 mm (0.2 in). Thickness must be uniform, and dimensional tolerance is ±5 %. Electrostatic powder coating: All metal components are sandblasted to remove oil, grime, and rust, creating a pitted surface for improved paint adhesion. Fine steel shot is then sprayed with compressed air to open microscopic pores and clean the metal surface. After manufacturing, the metal parts are coated with a polyester‑based electrostatic powder and baked in a 200–220 °C oven for 20 minutes. Subsequently, the parts undergo a 10‑minute, 70 °C, 5 % degreasing bath, followed by a 15‑minute, 50 °C, 1 % iron bath. After rinsing and drying, the components receive a durable polyester‑based powder coating applied in outdoor electrostatic systems and are cured in a 180–200 °C oven for 20–30 minutes. Weld seams are protected from corrosion by painting the entire assembled unit after welding.
