It is a semi‑permeable, pliable, and very durable polymer that is popular in industry because of its low cost and high resistance. Polyethylene is classified into categories based on density and chemical properties. Its mechanical properties depend on molecular weight, crystal structure, and branching type. Although properties vary by type, the general characteristics include good resistance to outdoor conditions and moisture, flexibility, low mechanical strength, and excellent chemical resistance. Polyethylene products are used to manufacture slides, stairs, guardrails, barriers, accessories, roofs, etc. To prevent color fading, masterbatch paints used for coloring polyethylene must have a lightfastness rating of 6 or higher. The material thickness at points subjected to pressure and friction should be at least 6 mm (0.2 in), while barriers and shade structures not exposed to pressure should be at least 4 mm (0.2 in). The material distribution must be uniform to ensure consistent thickness. Product thickness and dimension tolerances are ±5 %. Electrostatic Powder Coating All metal components will be sandblasted to remove oil, dirt, and rust, creating pores for better paint adhesion. Fine steel beads will be propelled with compressed air to open pores and clean the metal surface before coating. After fabrication, metal parts will be coated with a polyester‑based electrostatic powder and cured in a 200‑220 °C oven for 20 minutes. Subsequently, metal components will be rinsed in a 70 °C, 5 % degreasing bath for 10 minutes, followed by a 50 °C, 1 % iron bath for 15 minutes, then rinsed and dried. Finally, the parts will be coated with a durable polyester powder for outdoor use and baked at 180‑200 °C for 20‑30 minutes. Welds will be fully coated after welding to prevent corrosion.
