Seating Area: 400 × 400 cm (157 x 157 in) Height: 250 cm (98.4 in) Wood Characteristics: The lumber used for manufacture will be First‑Class Yellow Pine (Pinus sylvestris) timber. Wood sections will be cut with a maximum tolerance of ±2 mm (0.1 in), and overall wood dimensions with a maximum tolerance of ±20 mm (0.8 in). Required wood quality includes: - Knot: Up to four sound knots per meter, total knot diameter not exceeding one‑quarter of the piece width. No rotten, split, partially fused, or fallen knots are allowed. - Crack: No ring cracks; fine hairline cracks (1‑2 mm (0.1 in)) may be present. Pressure‑treated cracks are acceptable within tolerance limits. - Resin pockets: No more than one resin pocket per meter, not exceeding 10 cm (3.9 in) in length. No leaking or pulling resin, inner bark, rot holes, or insect borings are permitted. - Manufacturing defects are not allowed; only tolerances may cause deviations. Deflection: Not to exceed 1/50 of the member length. Impact: Not to exceed 1/100 of the member width. Twist: Not to exceed 2 mm (0.1 in) per meter length. Bending to the grain: Tolerated between 1/50 and 1/100 of the member length. Sanding: All visible surfaces will be sanded smooth to remove splinters. Main Supports: Support posts will be made from six pieces of pine lumber, each at least 90 × 90 mm (3.5 x 3.5 in), shaped with diamond‑tipped special knives. Post height will be 240 cm (94.5 in). Roof: The load‑bearing rafters of the pergola roof will be fabricated from 50 × 100 mm (2 x 3.9 in) wood. Two corners of each rafter will be routed for shaping. Additional decorative rafters, also 50 × 100 mm (2 x 3.9 in), will be formed with diamond‑tipped knives. All fixed connections will use special galvanized wood screws. Anchoring: A 150 × 150 × 5 mm (5.9 x 5.9 x 0.2 in) flange will be welded to a 90 × 70 × 5 mm (3.5 x 2.8 x 0.2 in) plate beneath each support post, with a 12 mm (0.5 in) diameter hole drilled. Anchors will be bolted to the posts with screws and secured to the ground with steel dowels, preventing water contact with the wood and ensuring stable footings. Picnic gazebo anchors will be welded to flanges at least 3 mm (0.1 in) thick, wrapping at least two sides. Six special screws will be installed on each post for anchor attachment, and two dowel screws per post for ground connection. All metal components will be powder‑coated with a polyester‑based finish in a furnace.
