It is a semi‑permeable, pliable, and highly durable polymer that is favoured in industry for its low cost and high resistance. Polyethylene density and chemical properties determine its classification into various categories. Mechanical properties depend on molecular weight, crystal structure, and branching type. While properties differ among grades, they generally exhibit good resistance to outdoor conditions and moisture, flexibility, low mechanical strength, and excellent chemical resistance. Polyethylene components are used to manufacture slides, stairs, guardrails, barriers, accessories, roofs, etc. To prevent colour fading, masterbatch pigments used for colouring polyethylene must have a light fastness rating of 6 or higher. The material’s wall thickness must be at least 6 mm (0.2 in) for parts subjected to pressure and friction, and at least 4 mm (0.2 in) for barrier and shade‑type parts that are not pressure‑exposed. Thickness must be uniform, with a dimensional tolerance of ±5%. Carrier Construction The carrier construction consists of steel tubes with a minimum outer diameter of 114 mm (4.5 in) and a minimum wall thickness of 2 mm (0.1 in), cold‑formed in accordance with TS EN 10219‑2, TS‑6476, DIN 2394 standards, and welded by high‑frequency welding. Tubes are painted by a sandblasting process followed by a polyester‑based electrostatic powder coating applied in a furnace. Electrostatic Powder Coating All metal components are first sandblasted to remove oil, dirt, and rust, creating a porous surface for better paint adhesion. Fine steel shot is then sprayed with compressed air to open pores and clean the metal. After manufacturing, components are coated with a polyester‑based electrostatic powder and cured in a 200–220 °C oven for 20 minutes. Subsequently, parts undergo a 10‑minute degreasing bath at 70 °C (5 % concentration), followed by a 15‑minute phosphating bath at 50 °C (1 % concentration). Final rinsing and drying steps are performed, and the entire assembly is painted in a single coat to prevent corrosion at weld points.
