It is a semi‑permeable, soften‑able, and highly durable polymer. Its low cost and high resistance make it popular in industry. Polyethylene density and chemical properties determine its classification into various categories. Mechanical properties depend on molecular weight, crystal structure, and branching type. While properties vary by type, overall it offers good resistance to outdoor conditions and moisture, flexibility, modest mechanical strength, and excellent chemical resistance. Polyethylene components are used to manufacture slides, stairs, railings, barriers, accessories, roofs, etc. To prevent colour fading, masterbatch pigments used for colouring polyethylene must have a lightfastness rating of 6 or higher. The product’s wall thickness must be at least 6 mm (0.2 in) for areas subjected to pressure and friction, and at least 4 mm (0.2 in) for barrier or shading elements not exposed to load. Material distribution must be uniform, ensuring consistent thickness. Thickness tolerances are ±5 %. Carrier Construction The carrier construction consists of cold‑formed steel tubes with a minimum outer diameter of 114 mm (4.5 in), a minimum wall thickness of 2 mm (0.1 in), and conforms to TS EN 10219‑2, TS‑6476, DIN 2394 standards. The tubes are welded by high‑frequency welding, painted with electrostatic powder coating, and baked in a furnace. Electrostatic Powder Coating Process All metal parts are first grit‑blasted to remove oil, dirt, and rust, creating a porous surface for better paint adhesion. Fine steel shot is then sprayed with pressurised air to open micro‑pores. After grit blasting, parts undergo a 10‑minute 70 °C dip in a 5 % degreasing bath, followed by a 15‑minute 50 °C dip in a 1 % iron bath. After rinsing and drying, the components are coated with a polyester‑based electrostatic powder and cured in a 200–220 °C oven for 20 minutes. Weld seams are subsequently painted in a single coat to prevent corrosion.
