Polyethylene Products Low-density linear polyethylene (LLDPE – Linear Low Density Polyethylene) is a thermoplastic used in various products. It is a semi-permeable, softening and highly durable polymer that is favored in industry due to its low cost and high resistance. Polyethylene is classified into different categories based on density and chemical properties. Its mechanical properties depend on molecular weight, crystal structure and branching type. While properties vary by grade, common characteristics include good resistance to outdoor conditions and moisture, flexibility, low mechanical strength, and excellent chemical resistance. Polyethylene products are used in the production of slides, stairs, railings, barriers, accessories, roofs, etc. To prevent color fading, masterbatch pigments used for coloring polyethylene must have a lightfastness test value of 6 or higher. The product’s wall thickness must be at least 6 mm (0.2 in) in sections subjected to pressure and friction, and at least 4 mm (0.2 in) for components that are not pressure‑bearing, such as barriers and shade structures. Material distribution must be uniform, ensuring consistent thickness. Wall‑thickness and dimensional tolerances are ±5 %. Carrier Construction A carrier construction will be manufactured from cold‑formed steel tubes that meet TS EN 10219-2, TS-6476, DIN 2394 standards, with a minimum outer diameter of 114 mm (4.5 in) and a minimum wall thickness of 2 mm (0.1 in). The tubes will be welded by high‑frequency welding within the specified tolerance, dimension, and cross‑section range. The carrier construction will be coated by sandblasting followed by a polyester‑based electrostatic powder‑coat on the tube surfaces. Electrostatic Powder Coating All metal components will be sandblasted to remove oil, dirt and rust, creating a suitable profile for better paint adhesion. Fine steel shot will be sprayed with pressurized air to open micro‑pores and clean the metal surface. After sandblasting, the parts will be coated with a polyester‑based electrostatic powder and cured in a 200–220 °C oven for 20 minutes. Subsequent to metal fabrication, components will undergo a 10‑minute, 70 °C, 5 % concentration degreasing bath, followed by a 15‑minute, 50 °C, 1 % concentration iron‑phosphate bath. After rinsing and drying, the parts will receive a durable polyester‑based powder coat applied outdoors, then baked at 180–200 °C for 20–30 minutes. All welds will be fully painted after welding to prevent corrosion.
