Polyethylene Products Low-density or linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE – Linear Low-Density Polyethylene) is a thermoplastic used in a variety of products. It is a semi-permeable, softening, and highly durable polymer that, thanks to its low cost and high resistance, is highly preferred in industry. Polyethylene is classified into different categories based on its density and chemical properties. Its mechanical properties depend on molecular weight, crystalline structure, and branching type. Although properties vary by grade, the general characteristics include good resistance to outdoor conditions and moisture, flexibility, low mechanical strength, and excellent chemical resistance. Polyethylene products are used for manufacturing slides, stairs, handrails, barriers, accessories, roofing, etc. To prevent color fading, masterbatch pigments used to colour polyethylene must have a lightfastness test value of 6 or higher. The wall thickness of the product must be at least 6 mm (0.2 in) in areas exposed to pressure and friction, and a minimum of 4 mm (0.2 in) for barrier and shading applications that are not subjected to pressure. Material distribution must be uniform, producing consistent thickness. The product wall thicknesses and dimensional tolerances are ±5 %. Carrier Construction The carrier construction will be made from cold‑formed steel tubes with a minimum diameter of 114 mm (4.5 in) and a minimum wall thickness of 2 mm (0.1 in), conforming to TS EN 10219‑2, TS‑6476, DIN 2394 standards. The tubes will be welded by high‑frequency welding within the specified tolerances, dimensions, and cross‑section ranges. These tubes will be sandblasted and then painted with a polyester‑based electrostatic powder coating. Electrostatic Powder Coating All metal parts will be prepared by sandblasting to remove oil, dirt, and rust, creating a porous surface for better paint adhesion. Fine steel beads will be sprayed with pressurised air to open pores and clean the metal surface of oil, rust and contaminants. After fabricating the metal components, they will be coated with a polyester‑based electrostatic paint and cured in a 200–220 °C oven for 20 minutes. Following fabrication, each metal part will be washed in a 10‑minute, 70 °C, 5 % concentration degreasing bath, then immersed for 15 minutes in a 50 °C, 1 % concentration iron passivation bath. After a final rinse and drying, the components will receive a durable polyester‑based powder coating suitable for outdoor use, baked in a 180–200 °C oven for 20–30 minutes. All welds will be fully painted after welding to prevent corrosion.
