Polyethylene Products Low or medium density linear polyethylene (LLDPE – Linear Low Density Polyethylene) is a thermoplastic used in various products. It is a semi‑permeable, pliable and highly durable polymer that is popular in industry due to its low cost and high resistance. Polyethylene is classified into categories based on density and chemical properties. Mechanical properties depend on molecular weight, crystalline structure and branch type. Although properties vary by grade, generally it offers good resistance to outdoor conditions and moisture, flexibility, low mechanical strength, and excellent chemical resistance. Polyethylene products are used in the production of slides, stairs, handrails, barriers, accessories, roofs, etc. To prevent color fading, masterbatch pigments used to colour polyethylene must have a lightfastness rating of 6 or higher. The wall thickness must be at least 6 mm (0.2 in) at points subjected to pressure or friction, and at least 4 mm (0.2 in) for items that are not pressure‑loaded such as barriers or shading products. Material distribution shall be uniform, producing even thickness. Thickness and dimension tolerances are ±5 %. Carrier Construction Steel tubes with a minimum diameter of 114 mm (4.5 in) and a minimum wall thickness of 2 mm (0.1 in) shall be cold‑formed in accordance with TS EN 10219‑2, TS‑6476, DIN 2394, then welded by high‑frequency welding. Tubes will be painted by sandblasting followed by a polyester‑based electrostatic powder‑coat. Electrostatic Powder Coating All metal parts will be sandblasted to remove oils, dirt and rust, creating a porous surface for better paint adhesion. Fine steel beads will be sprayed with compressed air to open pores and clean the metal. After sandblasting, parts will be coated with a polyester‑based electrostatic powder and cured in a 200–220 °C oven for 20 minutes. Subsequent treatment includes a 10‑minute dip in a 70 °C, 5 % concentration oil‑removal bath, followed by a 15‑minute dip in a 50 °C, 1 % iron bath, rinsing, and drying. Finally, the metal components will receive a durable polyester‑based powder coating baked at 180–200 °C for 20–30 minutes. All welds will be fully painted after welding to prevent corrosion.
