Polyethylene Products Low‑density linear polyethylene (LLDPE – Linear Low Density Polyethylene) is a thermoplastic used in a wide range of products. It is a semi‑permeable, soft‑able, and highly durable polymer that, because of its low cost and high resistance, is widely preferred in industry. Polyethylene is classified into various categories based on density and chemical characteristics. Its mechanical properties depend on molecular weight, crystal structure, and branching type. Although properties vary by type, the common traits include good resistance to outdoor conditions and moisture, flexibility, low mechanical strength, and excellent chemical resistance. Polyethylene products are used to manufacture slides, stairs, guardrails, barriers, accessories, roofing, and similar items. To prevent color fading, masterbatch dyes used for coloring polyethylene must have a light fastness value of 6 or higher. The product’s core thickness must be at least 6 mm (0.2 in) at points subjected to pressure and friction, and at least 4 mm (0.2 in) for items used as barriers or shades that are not exposed to pressure. Material distribution must be uniform, creating even thickness. Core thicknesses and dimensional tolerances are ±5%. Carrier Construction A minimum 114 mm (4.5 in) diameter steel tube with a minimum 2 mm (0.1 in) wall thickness, conforming to TS EN 10219‑2, TS‑6476, DIN 2394 standards, will be cold‑formed and welded by high‑frequency welding. The tubes will be painted with a polyester‑based electrostatic powder coating applied in a sand‑blasted furnace. Electrostatic Powder Coating All metal components will be sand‑blasted to remove oil, dirt, and rust, creating a porous surface for better paint adhesion. Fine steel beads will be sprayed with compressed air to open additional pores and clean the metal surface. After fabrication, metal parts will be coated with a polyester‑based electrostatic powder, then cured in a 200–220 °C oven for 20 minutes. After fabrication, metal components will undergo a 10‑minute, 70 °C, 5% concentration oil‑removal bath, followed by a 15‑minute, 50 °C, 1% concentration iron bath. They will then be rinsed, dried, and finally coated with a durable, outdoor‑grade polyester powder finish, cured at 180–200 °C for 20–30 minutes. All welds will be completely painted after welding to prevent corrosion.
