Polyethylene Products Low-density or linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) is a thermoplastic used in various products. It is a semi‑permeable, flexible, and highly durable polymer that is popular in industry due to its low cost and high resistance. Polyethylene is classified into several categories based on density and chemical characteristics. Its mechanical properties depend on molecular weight, crystal structure, and branching type. While properties vary by type, general attributes include good resistance to outdoor conditions and moisture, flexibility, low mechanical strength, and excellent chemical resistance. Polyethylene products are used to manufacture slide, stairs, handrails, barriers, accessories, roofing, etc. To prevent colour fading, masterbatch pigments used for colouring polyethylene must have a lightfastness rating of 6 or higher. The product’s wall thickness must be at least 6 mm (0.2 in) at points subjected to pressure and friction, and a minimum of 4 mm (0.2 in) for barrier and shading products not exposed to pressure. Material distribution must be uniform, providing consistent thickness. Wall‑thickness and dimension tolerances are ±5%. Carrier Construction A carrier construction of at least 114 mm (4.5 in) diameter, with a minimum 2 mm (0.1 in) wall thickness, will be cold‑formed according to TS EN 10219‑2, TS‑6476, DIN 2394 standards, welded by high‑frequency welding, and manufactured within the standard tolerance, size, and cross‑section ranges. It will consist of round‑section steel tubes that are sand‑blasted and then painted with a polyester‑based electrostatic powder coating. Electrostatic Powder Coating All metal parts will be sand‑blasted to remove oil, dirt, and rust, creating a porous surface for better paint adhesion. Fine steel beads will be sprayed with pressurised air to open pores and clean the metal surface of oil, rust and contaminants. After fabrication, the metal components will be coated with a polyester‑based electrostatic powder and cured in a 200–220 °C oven for 20 minutes. Subsequently, the parts will be rinsed in a 10‑minute, 70 °C, 5 % degreasing bath, followed by a 15‑minute, 50 °C, 1 % iron‑pickling bath, then rinsed and dried. Finally, the entire assembly will be powder‑coated with a durable outdoor‑grade polyester powder and cured at 180–200 °C for 20–30 minutes. Welded areas will be completely painted after welding to prevent corrosion.
