It is a semi‑permeable, softable, and highly durable polymer. Its low cost and high resistance make it a preferred material in industry. Polyethylene is classified into categories based on density and chemical properties. Mechanical characteristics depend on molecular weight, crystal structure, and branching type. Although properties vary by grade, the material generally offers good resistance to outdoor conditions and moisture, flexibility, modest mechanical strength, and excellent chemical resistance. Polyethylene components are used for slides, stairs, railings, barriers, accessories, roofing, etc. To prevent color fading, masterbatch pigments used for coloring must have a lightfastness rating of 6 or higher. The product’s wall thickness must be at least 6 mm (0.2 in) where it is subjected to pressure or friction, and at least 4 mm (0.2 in) for parts used solely as barriers or shade structures. Thickness should be uniform, and dimensional tolerance is ±5%. Electrostatic Powder Coating Process All metal parts are first cleaned by abrasive blasting to remove oil, dirt, and rust, creating a porous surface for better paint adhesion. A fine‑ball coating material is then sprayed with pressurized air to open micro‑pores and eliminate contaminants. After cleaning, the metal components are coated with a polyester‑based electrostatic powder and baked in a 200–220 °C oven for 20 minutes. Following fabrication, metal parts undergo a 10‑minute dip in a 70 °C, 5 % degreasing bath, then a 15‑minute dip in a 50 °C, 1 % iron‑phosphate bath. After rinsing and drying, the components receive a durable polyester‑based powder coating suitable for outdoor use and are cured in a 180–200 °C oven for 20–30 minutes. All welds are protected from corrosion by painting the entire assembly as a single piece after welding.
