It is a semi‑permeable, softening, and highly durable polymer with low cost and high resistance, making it popular in industry. Based on density and chemical properties, polyethylene is classified into various categories. Mechanical properties depend on molecular weight, crystal structure, and branching type. While properties vary by type, general characteristics include good resistance to outdoor conditions and moisture, flexibility, low mechanical strength, and excellent chemical resistance. Polyethylene products are used in slides, stairs, railings, barriers, accessories, roofs, etc. To prevent color fading, masterbatch pigments used for coloring polyethylene must have a light fastness rating of 6 or higher. Material thickness should be a minimum of 6 mm (0.2 in) for parts exposed to pressure and friction, and a minimum of 4 mm (0.2 in) for barriers and shade structures not exposed to pressure. Material distribution must be uniform, and thickness tolerance is 5%. Electrostatic Powder Coating All metal components will be prepared for painting by sandblasting to create porous surfaces for better paint adhesion, removing oil, dirt, and rust. Fine metal beads will be sprayed with pressurized air to open pores for paint adhesion and to clean oil, rust, and dirt from metal surfaces. After manufacturing, metal parts will be coated with polyester‑based electrostatic powder coating and cured in a 200‑220 °C oven for 20 minutes. After fabrication, metal components will be cleaned in a 70 °C, 5% degreasing bath for 10 minutes, then immersed in a 50 °C, 1% iron bath for 15 minutes, followed by rinsing and drying. The material will be coated with durable polyester‑based powder coating suitable for outdoor use and cured in a 180‑200 °C oven for 20‑30 minutes. Welds will be painted in a single coat after welding to prevent corrosion.
