It is semi-permeable, flexible, and highly durable, offering low cost and high resistance, which makes it a popular choice in industry. Polyethylene is classified by density and chemical properties. Its mechanical characteristics depend on molecular weight, crystal structure, and branching type. While specific properties vary, it generally provides good resistance to outdoor conditions and moisture, flexibility, modest mechanical strength, and excellent chemical resistance. Polyethylene is used to manufacture slides, stairs, railings, barriers, accessories, roofing, etc. To prevent color fading, masterbatch dyes used for polyethylene must have a lightfastness rating of 6 or higher. The material's edge thickness must be at least 6 mm (0.2 in) where it is subject to pressure and friction, and at least 4 mm (0.2 in) for non‑load‑bearing barriers and shade structures. Thickness tolerance is ±5 %. Electrostatic Powder Coating All metal components will be sandblasted to remove oil, grime, and rust, creating a surface profile that improves paint adhesion. Fine steel shot will be propelled with compressed air to open micro‑pores for better paint grip and to clean oil, rust, and dirt from the metal. After fabrication, the metal parts will be coated with a polyester‑based electrostatic powder, then cured in a 200‑220 °C oven for 20 minutes. Following this, parts will be rinsed in a 70 °C, 5 % degreasing bath for 10 minutes, then immersed in a 50 °C, 1 % iron‑phosphate bath for 15 minutes. After a final rinse and drying, the components will receive a durable polyester‑based outdoor powder coating cured at 180‑200 °C for 20‑30 minutes. Weld seams will be left untouched until after the final coating to ensure corrosion protection. Model 53845 – The Next Generation Playground provides four distinct elements.
