It is semi‑permeable, pliable and very durable, offering low cost and high resistance, making it popular in industry. Based on density and chemical properties, polyethylene is classified into several categories. Mechanical properties depend on molecular weight, crystal structure and branching type. Although properties vary, it generally provides good resistance to outdoor conditions and moisture, flexibility, moderate mechanical strength and excellent chemical resistance. Polyethylene is used to manufacture slides, ladders, railings, barriers, accessories, roofing, etc. To prevent colour fading, masterbatch pigments used for colouring polyethylene must have a lightfastness rating of 6 or higher. The product’s core thickness must be at least 6 mm (0.2 in) where the material is exposed to pressure and friction, and at least 4 mm (0.2 in) for components that are not pressure‑bearing such as barriers and shading units. Thickness must be uniform with a dimensional tolerance of ±5 %. ELECTROSTATIC POWDER COATING All metallic components are prepared by sandblasting to remove oil, dirt and rust, creating a porous surface for better paint adhesion. Fine steel beads are blown onto the surface with compressed air to open additional pores. After fabrication, metal parts are coated with a polyester‑based electrostatic powder and cured at 200–220 °C for 20 minutes. The parts are then rinsed in a 70 °C, 5 % degreasing bath for 10 minutes, followed by a 50 °C, 1 % iron bath for 15 minutes, rinsed again and dried. Finally, the entire assembly is painted in a single coat using a durable outdoor polyester powder, baked at 180–200 °C for 20–30 minutes. Weld seams are protected from corrosion by painting the entire unit after welding.
