Polyethylene Products Low‑density linear polyethylene (LLDPE) is a thermoplastic used in a variety of products. It is semi‑permeable, pliable, and highly durable, offering low cost and high resistance, which makes it popular in industry. Based on density and chemical properties, polyethylene is classified into several categories. Its mechanical characteristics depend on molecular weight, crystalline structure, and branching type. Although properties vary by grade, general attributes include good resistance to outdoor conditions and moisture, flexibility, modest mechanical strength, and excellent chemical resistance. Polyethylene is used to manufacture slides, stairs, railings, barriers, accessories, roofs, etc. To prevent color fading, masterbatch dyes used for coloring polyethylene must have a lightfastness rating of 6 or higher. The product’s wall thickness must be at least 6 mm (0.2 in) for components exposed to pressure or friction, and at least 4 mm (0.2 in) for non‑load‑bearing barriers and shade structures. Thickness should be uniform, and dimensional tolerance is ±5 %. Carrier Construction The carrier structure consists of circular‑section steel tubes with a minimum diameter of 114 mm (4.5 in) and a minimum wall thickness of 2 mm (0.1 in), cold‑formed according to TS EN 10219‑2, TS‑6476, DIN 2394 standards and welded by high‑frequency welding. The tubes are sandblasted and then coated with a polyester‑based electrostatic powder paint in a furnace. Electrostatic Powder Coating Process All metal parts are first sandblasted to remove oil, grime, and rust, creating a porous surface for better paint adhesion. A fine bead material is then sprayed with compressed air to open additional pores. After cleaning, the parts are coated with polyester‑based electrostatic powder paint and cured in a 200–220 °C oven for 20 minutes. Following metal fabrication, the components undergo a 10‑minute, 70 °C, 5 % degreasing bath, then a 15‑minute, 50 °C, 1 % iron‑phosphate bath, followed by rinsing and drying. Finally, the entire product is painted in a single coat to prevent corrosion at welds, with the powder coating baked at 180–200 °C for 20–30 minutes.
