It is a semi‑permeable, moldable, and highly durable polymer with low cost and high resistance, making it popular in industry. Polyethylene’s density and chemical properties determine its classification. Its mechanical properties depend on molecular weight, crystalline structure, and branching type. While properties vary by grade, general characteristics include good resistance to outdoor conditions and moisture, flexibility, low mechanical strength, and excellent chemical resistance. Polyethylene is used to manufacture slides, ladders, railings, barriers, accessories, roofing, etc. To prevent colour fading, masterbatch pigments used for colouring polyethylene must have a lightfastness rating of 6 or higher. The product wall thickness must be at least 6 mm (0.2 in) for parts exposed to pressure and friction, and at least 4 mm (0.2 in) for components used only as barriers or shades that are not pressure‑exposed. Material distribution must be uniform to achieve consistent thickness. Dimensional tolerances are ±5 %. Carrier Construction The carrier structure will be made from round steel tubes with a minimum diameter of 114 mm (4.5 in) and a minimum wall thickness of 2 mm (0.1 in), cold‑formed in accordance with TS EN 10219‑2, TS‑6476, DIN 2394 standards and welded by high‑frequency welding. Tubes will be sandblasted and then powder‑coated with a polyester‑based electrostatic powder paint. Electrostatic Powder Paint Process All metal parts will be sandblasted to remove oil, dirt, and rust, creating a porous surface for better paint adhesion. Fine steel beads will be sprayed with pressurised air to open micro‑pores and clean the surface. After fabrication, metal components will be coated with a polyester‑based electrostatic powder and cured in a 200–220 °C oven for 20 minutes. Subsequently, parts will undergo a 10‑minute cleaning bath at 70 °C with a 5 % degreasing solution, followed by a 15‑minute dip in a 50 °C, 1 % iron pickling bath. After rinsing and drying, the components will receive a final powder‑coat and be baked at 180–200 °C for 20–30 minutes. Weld seams will be completely painted to prevent corrosion.
