Climbing Ropes: The ropes are 16 mm (0.6 in) diameter polyamide (nylon) cables with UV protection and fire‑retardant solution. Each rope consists of six strands, each strand wrapped around a solid core of polyamide containing 24 steel reinforcement wires, for a total of 144 steel reinforcement wires. The ends of the cable are fitted with finished aluminum sleeves and a galvanized steel wear‑rod‑covered connection loop. The edge ropes contain steel cables wrapped around a solid core instead of polyamide, providing a sturdy core for a total of 168 steel reinforcement wires. Connection Balls: A single compressed aluminum ball, sized to withstand a force of 150,000 lb (667 kN), prevents the connection form from moving and premature cable wear. Landing Surface: A 13 mm (0.5 in) thick rubber‑lined, fabric‑reinforced rubber pad with drainage holes, secured to the cable with two‑piece bolted aluminum connectors to reduce rope wear. Base Connection Elements: All fastening components for component attachments are stainless steel.
