Wood sections will be cut with a maximum tolerance of ± 2 mm (0.1 in), and dimensions with a maximum tolerance of ± 20 mm (0.8 in). Required wood quality includes: - Knots: Each meter may contain up to four sound knots, with knot diameters not exceeding one‑quarter of the piece width. No rotten, split, partially fused, or missing knots are permitted. - Cracks: No ring cracks are allowed; fine hairline cracks (1–2 mm (0-0.1 in)) may be present. Pressure‑treated conditions may produce head and length cracks within tolerance limits. - Resin Pockets: Each meter may contain at most one resin pocket not longer than 10 cm (3.9 in). No dripping or pulling resin, inner bark, rot cavities, or insect holes are allowed. - Manufacturing Defects: No defects other than the specified tolerances. - Deflection: Deflection shall not exceed 1/50 of the member length. - Impact: Impact shall not exceed 1/100 of the member width. - Twist: Twist shall not exceed 2 mm (0.1 in) per meter length. - Edge Bending: Bending tolerance between 1/50 and 1/100 of member length. - Sanding: All visible surfaces will be sanded smooth. Primary Supports: Support legs will be fabricated from four pieces of pine lumber, each at least 90 × 90 mm (3.5 x 3.5 in), cut with diamond‑tipped special blades to add a motif. The support legs will be 240 cm (94.5 in) high. Roof: The pergola’s roof beams will be made from 50 × 100 mm (2 x 3.9 in) wood. Two corners of each beam will be routed for shaping, and the beams will be further shaped with diamond‑tipped blades to add a decorative motif. All fixed connections will use specially galvanized wood screws. Bottom Panels (Railings): The lower railing height is 75 cm (29.5 in). Railing frames are made from 50 × 50 mm (2 x 2 in) wood, sanded on all sides and edged with diamond‑tipped blades. Frames will be mounted to the primary supports with special galvanized wood screws. Intermediate motifs are fabricated from 40 × 50 mm (1.6 x 2 in) wood shaped with diamond‑tipped blades and mounted with the same galvanized screws. Anchors: A 150 × 150 × 5 mm (5.9 x 5.9 x 0.2 in) flange will be welded onto the underside of each support leg, with a 90 × 70 × 5 mm (3.5 x 2.8 x 0.2 in) plate welded on top, and a 12 mm (0.5 in) diameter hole will be drilled. Anchors will be bolted to the legs and connected to the ground with steel dowels, preventing water contact with the wood and securing the legs. Pergola anchors will be fabricated by welding flanges on at least two sides, covering a minimum of 3 mm (0.1 in) of the vertical element. Six special screws will be installed on each leg for the anchor connection, and two dowel screws per leg for ground attachment. All metal components will be powder‑coated with a polyester‑based finish and baked.
