Wood sections will be cut to a maximum tolerance of ±2 mm (0.1 in), and wood dimensions to a maximum tolerance of ±20 mm (0.8 in). The following wood quality criteria apply: - Knots: Each meter may contain up to four solid knots. The total diameter of knots will not exceed one‑quarter of the piece width. No rotten, split, partially fused, or missing knots are permitted. - Cracks: No ring cracks will be present. Fine hair‑line cracks (1‑2 mm (0.1 in)) are allowed. Pressure‑treated timber may exhibit occasional head‑ and body‑cracks within tolerance limits. - Resin pockets: Each meter may contain one resin pocket not longer than 10 cm (3.9 in). No leaking or pulling resin, inner shell, decay cavities, or insect holes are allowed. - Manufacturing defects: None, only deviations within the stated tolerances. - Bow: Deflection will not exceed 1/50 of the member length. - Impact: Impact marks will not exceed 1/100 of the member width. - Twist: Twisting will not exceed 2 mm (0.1 in) per meter. - Bending tolerance: Deflection will be tolerated between 1/50 and 1/100 of the member length. - Sanding: All visible surfaces will be sanded smooth and free of splinters. Anchoring: Two flange plates (18 × 13 × 3 mm (0.7 x 0.5 x 0.1 in)) will be welded to the bottom of each carrier leg, with a 15 × 8 × 2 mm (0.6 x 0.3 x 0.1 in) washer fused on top. Two 13 × 8 × 3 mm (0.5 x 0.3 x 0.1 in) plates will be drilled for anchor bolts, and each 15 × 8 × 2 mm (0.6 x 0.3 x 0.1 in) plate will have three 6 mm (0.2 in) screw holes. Anchors will be mounted to the carriers with screws and to the floor with steel dowels, preventing wood contact with water and securing the legs. Gazebo anchors will be fabricated by welding flanges with a minimum 2.5 mm (0.1 in) weld bead on at least two sides. Six special screws will be installed per leg for the vertical connections, and two dowel screws per leg for floor attachment. All metal components will be painted with polyester‑based powder coating in a furnace.
