Wooden Playground Set – (Classic Series) Technical Specification The wooden playground sets are manufactured from locally sourced yellow pine. All wood is pressure‑treated with a preservative. Metal components in the sets are electrostatically powder‑coated. Slides are made from fiberglass or polyethylene. Stair treads and landing platforms are covered with patterned rubber on metal frames. All wood‑metal playground sets are TSE certified and include a 2‑year usage warranty plus a 5‑year spare‑part guarantee from the manufacturer. Preservative Treatment (Preservative Impregnation) Preservative treatment infuses the wood with chemicals to protect it from fungi, insects and wood‑boring pests, extending its service life. The preservative penetrates only the sapwood; heartwood is naturally durable. The wood must be sapwood for treatment. The process varies with wood species, installation environment and expected lifespan. Immersion Method As the name suggests, the wood is fully immersed in a tank of preservative solution and then left to cure for 24 hours. This method is fast, efficient and economical, offering lower labor and storage costs than pressure‑treatment. Immersion is recommended for untreated wood prior to installation. Protective Agent The preservative prevents infestation by beetles and insects. For durability, a top‑coat of varnish is recommended to maintain the preservative’s effectiveness over time. The preservative may slightly tint the wood but does not act as a coloring agent. In covered structures such as a picnic gazebo, protection lasts 1–2 years. For city‑furniture items like pergolas, benches or picnic tables, protection lasts 6 months to 1 year. Filling Varnish • Reaches sanding hardness in 2–4 hours (depending on temperature and humidity). • Fills wood pores. • Provides a smooth surface. • Reduces absorption of the final top coat, saving time and material. • Easy to sand. Gloss Varnish Provides the desired gloss level and slip resistance. Physically it is hard, resistant to scratches and impacts; chemically it resists water, detergents and other chemicals. It is the final clear coat with high clarity and durability.
