Wooden Playground – (Classic Series) Technical Specification Manufacture of wooden playground play sets, features, dimensions… The wooden playground play sets are produced locally from imported first‑grade yellow pine. All wood is pressure‑treated with preservative. Metal components used in the play sets are electro‑static oven‑painted. Slides are made of fiberglass or polyethylene. Stairs, handrails and treads are metal frames covered with patterned rubber. All of our wood‑metal playground play sets are TSE certified and come with a two‑year use guarantee and five‑year spare‑part coverage from the manufacturer. Preservative Treatment Preservative treatment involves impregnating the wood with various chemicals to protect it from fungi, insects and termites, thereby extending its service life. The preservative penetrates only the sapwood; the heartwood is naturally resistant. The wood must be sapwood for treatment. The process varies depending on wood type, environment and expected lifespan. Immersion method: the wood is fully submerged in a preservative‑filled tank, then left to cure for 24 hours. This method is fast, efficient and economical, requiring less time, labor and storage cost than pressurized systems, making it cheaper. Immersion is recommended for protecting untreated wood components. Protective agent Prevents decay and insect damage. For durability, a finish coat is recommended to maintain the preservative’s effectiveness over time. The preservative may slightly tint the wood but does not act as a dye. In covered structures (e.g., picnic gazebo) the protection lasts 1–2 years. For urban furniture such as pergolas, benches and picnic tables, the protection lasts 6 months to 1 year. Filling Varnish • Reaches sanding hardness within 2–4 hours after application (varies with temperature and humidity). • Fills wood pores. • Provides a smooth surface. • Reduces absorption of the final topcoat, saving time and material. • Easy to sand. Gloss Varnish Provides the desired gloss and slip resistance. Physically it is hard, scratch‑ and impact‑resistant; chemically it resists water, detergents and other chemicals. It is the final clear coat with a bright, high‑clarity finish.
