Wooden Children’s Playground – (Classic Series) Technical Specification Our wooden playground play sets are manufactured from locally sourced yellow pine and imported first‑class timber. All wood is pressure‑treated with a preservative. The metal components in the play sets are electrostatically oven‑painted. Slides are made from fiberglass or polyethylene. Stair treads and platform edges are covered with patterned rubber mounted on a metal frame. All of our wood‑metal children’s playground play sets are TSE certified and come with a manufacturer’s warranty covering two years of use and five years of spare‑part supply. What Is Preservative Treatment? Preservative treatment involves impregnating the wood with chemical agents to protect it from fungi, insects, and termites, extending its service life. The preservative penetrates only the sapwood; the heartwood remains naturally durable. Treated wood must contain sapwood. The treatment method varies according to wood species, intended environment, and expected lifespan. Dip‑treating, as the name suggests, submerges the wood in a preservative‑filled tank, then allows it to cure for 24 hours. This method is fast, efficient, and cost‑effective, offering lower labor and storage costs compared with pressure‑treated processes. Dip‑treating is recommended for protecting untreated lumber before installation. Protective Agent: The treatment prevents beetle and termite damage. For durability, a finish coating is recommended to maintain the preservative’s effectiveness over time. While the preservative may slightly tint the wood, it does not function as a pigment. In enclosed structures such as a gazebo, the treatment provides 1‑2 years of protection. For outdoor fixtures like pergolas, benches, and picnic tables, the protection lasts 6 months to 1 year. Filling Varnish: - Reaches sanding hardness within 2–4 hours (subject to ambient temperature and humidity). - Fills wood pores. - Provides a smooth surface. - Reduces absorption of the final topcoat, saving time and materials. - Easily sandable. Gloss Varnish: - Delivers the desired shine and slip resistance on the applied surface. - Physically hard, resistant to scratches and impacts; chemically resistant to water, detergents, and other agents. - Acts as the final clear coat, offering high transparency and a bright finish. All specifications adhere to industry standards for safety and durability.
