All wood is pressure‑treated with impregnation. Metal components used in the wooden play sets are electro‑static oven‑painted. Slides are made from fiberglass or polyethylene. Stair treads and handrails are covered with patterned rubber on a metal frame. All our wood‑metal children’s playground play sets are TSE certified and come with a 2‑year usage and 5‑year spare‑part warranty from the manufacturer. What is Impregnation? Impregnation is a process of introducing various chemicals into wood by different methods. This treatment protects the wood from fungi, insects, and termites, thereby extending its service life. The impregnation agent penetrates only the sapwood; it does not reach the heartwood because the dense texture of heartwood prevents absorption. Heartwood is naturally durable. For impregnation, the wood must be sapwood. The impregnation process varies according to wood species, intended environment, and expected service life. Immersion Method As the name suggests, the wood is completely immersed in a tank filled with the impregnation solution and then left to dry for 24 hours. The method is fast, efficient, and economical. Because it takes less time and incurs lower labor and storage costs, it is cheaper than a pressure system. Immersion is recommended for protecting untreated wood. Protective Treatment Its purpose is to prevent termite and insect damage. For durability, varnish applications are recommended to preserve the impregnation benefits over the long term. The impregnation material may slightly tint the wood but does not act as a pigment. In covered areas (e.g., picnic gazebo) it provides protection for 1–2 years. For city‑fixture elements such as pergolas, benches, and picnic tables, protection lasts 6 months to 1 year. Filling varnish – Reaches sanding hardness within 2–4 hours after application (depending on ambient temperature and humidity). – Fills the wood’s pores. – Provides a smooth surface. – Reduces absorption of the final topcoat, saving time and material. – Easy to sand. Glossy varnish Provides the desired sheen and slip resistance on the applied surface. Physically, it is hard, resistant to scratches and impacts; chemically, it resists water, detergents, and other chemicals. It is the final clear coat with a bright appearance, offering high transparency.
