Wooden Playground – (Classic Series) Technical Specification Wooden Playground Play Sets Manufacturing, Features, Dimensions… Our wooden playground play sets are manufactured from locally sourced yellow pine, imported grade 1. All wood is pressure‑treated with preservative. Metal components in the play sets are powder‑coated in an electrostatic oven. Slides are made from fiberglass or polyethylene. Stair treads and landing platforms are covered with patterned rubber mounted on a metal frame. All of our wood‑metal playground play sets are TSE certified and come with a 2‑year usage warranty and a 5‑year spare‑parts warranty from the manufacturer. What is Preservative Treatment? Preservative treatment involves impregnating wood with various chemicals through different methods. This process protects the wood from fungi, insects, and termites, extending its service life. The preservative penetrates only the sapwood; the heartwood is naturally durable and does not absorb the solution. Therefore, the wood to be treated must be sapwood. The treatment method varies according to wood species, intended environment, and expected lifespan. The immersion method, as the name suggests, submerges the wood completely in a tank filled with preservative solution, then allows it to cure for 24 hours. The method is fast, efficient and economical. Because it requires less time, labor, and storage costs, it is cheaper than pressure‑treatment systems. Immersion is recommended for protecting untreated lumber prior to installation. Protective Agent The preservative prevents infestation by termites and insects. For durability, a finish coat is recommended to preserve the treatment’s effectiveness over time. The preservative may slightly color the wood but does not act as a dye. In covered structures such as a picnic gazebo, protection lasts 1–2 years. For urban furniture like pergolas, benches, and picnic tables, protection lasts 6 months to 1 year. Filling Varnish – Reaches sanding‑ready hardness within 2–4 hours after application (depending on temperature and humidity). – Fills wood pores. – Provides a smooth surface. – Reduces absorption of the final topcoat, saving time and material. – Sands easily. Gloss Varnish Creates the desired shine and slip resistance on the applied surface. Physically it is hard, scratch‑ and impact‑resistant; chemically it resists water, detergents and other chemicals. It is the final clear coat with a bright, high‑gloss finish and high transparency.
