Wooden Children's Playground – (Classic Series) Technical Specification Wooden playground play sets are manufactured from locally sourced yellow pine, imported grade 1. All wood is pressure‑treated with impregnation. Metal components in the wooden play sets are electrostatically oven‑painted. Slides are made from fiberglass or polyethylene. Stair treads and handrails are metal frames covered with patterned rubber. All our wood‑metal playground sets are TSE certified and come with a 2‑year usage and 5‑year spare‑part warranty from the manufacturer. What is Impregnation? Impregnation is the process of infusing wood with various chemicals to protect it from fungi, insects, and termites, thereby extending its service life. The chemicals penetrate only the sapwood; heartwood is naturally durable and does not absorb the solution. Only sapwood wood can be impregnated. The impregnation process varies according to wood species, environment, and expected service life. In the dipping method, wood is fully submerged in a tank of impregnation solution, then allowed to dry for 24 hours. This method is fast, efficient, and economical, requiring less time, labor, and storage cost than a pressure system, making it cheaper. Dipping is recommended for protecting unassembled wood. It acts as a protective agent to prevent rot and insect damage. For durability, varnishing is recommended to maintain the impregnation properties over time. The impregnation material may slightly color the wood but does not function as a pigment. In covered structures such as a picnic gazebo, protection lasts 1–2 years. For urban furniture such as pergolas, benches, and picnic tables, protection lasts 6 months to 1 year. Filling Varnish - Reaches sanding hardness in 2–4 hours after application (may vary with temperature and humidity). - Fills wood pores. - Provides a smooth surface. - Reduces absorption of the final topcoat, saving time and material. - Easy to sand. Gloss Varnish Provides the desired gloss appearance and slip resistance. Physically it is hard, resistant to scratches and impacts; chemically it resists water, detergents, and other chemicals. It is the final clear coat with a bright, high‑clarity finish.
