The wooden play sets are produced from locally sourced yellow pine, imported grade 1 timber. All wood components are pressure‑treated with a preservative. Metal fittings used in the play sets are electro‑static oven‑painted. Slides are manufactured from fiberglass or polyethylene. Stair treads and handrails are metal frames covered with patterned rubber. All of our wooden‑metal playground play sets are TSE certified and include a 2‑year usage warranty plus a 5‑year spare‑parts warranty from the manufacturer. What is Preservative Treatment? Preservative treatment involves impregnating the wood with various chemicals to protect it from fungal decay, insects, and termites, thereby extending its service life. The preservative penetrates only the sapwood; heartwood is naturally resistant and does not absorb the solution. Only sapwood is suitable for treatment. The process varies according to wood species, intended environment, and expected lifespan. Soaking Method: The wood is fully submerged in a tank of preservative solution and then allowed to cure for 24 hours. This method is fast, efficient, and cost‑effective, requiring less labor and storage than pressure treatment. Soaking is recommended for untreated lumber before assembly. Protective Agent: The treatment prevents rot and insect attack. For durability, a finish coat of varnish is recommended to maintain the preservative's effectiveness over time. The preservative may slightly tint the wood but does not act as a pigment. In covered structures such as a gazebo, protection lasts 1–2 years. For urban fixtures like pergolas, benches, and picnic tables, protection lasts 6 months to 1 year. Filling Varnish: • Achieves sanding hardness within 2–4 hours (depending on temperature and humidity). • Fills wood pores. • Provides a smooth surface. • Reduces absorption of the final topcoat, saving time and material. • Easy to sand. Gloss Varnish: Creates the desired shine and slip resistance. Physically it is hard, scratch‑ and impact‑resistant; chemically it resists water, detergents, and other chemicals. It is the final clear coat with high transparency and a vibrant gloss finish.
