All wood is pressure‑treated with preservative. Metal components used in the wooden play sets are electrostatically powder‑coated. Slides are made from fiberglass or polyethylene. Stair treads and handrails are covered with patterned rubber on metal frames. All our wood‑metal playground play sets are TSE certified and come with a two‑year usage warranty and a five‑year spare‑part warranty from the manufacturer. What is Pressure Treatment? Pressure treatment is the process of impregnating wood with various chemicals using different methods. This treatment protects the wood from fungi, insects, and wood‑boring beetles, extending its service life. The preservative penetrates only the sapwood; it does not enter the heartwood, which is naturally durable. The wood to be treated must be sapwood. The treatment process varies according to wood species, intended environment, and expected service life. In the immersion method, as the name suggests, the wood is fully submerged in a tank filled with preservative solution and then left to cure for 24 hours. The method is fast, efficient, and economical. Because immersion requires less time and lower labor and storage costs, it is cheaper than pressure treatment. Immersion is recommended for protecting untreated lumber. The preservative acts as a protective agent to prevent wood decay and insect damage. For durability, it is recommended to apply a finish over the treated wood to preserve the preservative’s properties for a longer period. The preservative may slightly tint the wood but does not function as a dye. In covered structures (e.g., picnic gazebos) the protection lasts 1‑2 years. For urban furniture such as pergolas, benches, and picnic tables, the protective effect lasts 6 months to 1 year. Filling Varnish • Reaches a sandable hardness in 2–4 hours after application (may vary with temperature and humidity). • Fills wood pores. • Provides a smooth surface. • Reduces absorption of the final topcoat, saving time and material. • Easy to sand. Gloss Varnish Provides the desired gloss appearance and slip resistance on the applied surface. Physically it is hard, resistant to scratches and impacts; chemically it resists water, detergents, and other chemicals. It serves as the final clear coat with a bright, high‑clarity finish.
