Wooden Playground – (Classic Series) Technical Specification. Manufacturing of wooden playground play sets, their features, and dimensions. The wooden playground sets for 1st‑grade use are made from imported‑local yellow pine. All wood is pressure‑treated with preservative. Metal components in the wooden play sets are electrostatically oven‑painted. Slides are manufactured from fiberglass or polyethylene. Stair treads and landing boards consist of metal frames covered with patterned rubber. All of our wood‑metal playground play sets are TSE certified and include a 2‑year usage warranty and a 5‑year spare‑part warranty from the manufacturer. What is pressure treatment? Pressure treatment is the process of impregnating wood with various chemicals to protect it from fungi, insects, and other pests, thereby extending its service life. The preservative penetrates only the sapwood; the heartwood, which is naturally durable, remains untreated. The wood must be sapwood for the treatment to be effective. The treatment method varies according to wood species, intended environment, and desired service life. In the immersion method, wood is fully submerged in a tank of preservative solution and then left to cure for 24 hours. This method is fast, efficient, and economical, requiring less time, labor, and storage cost than pressurized systems, making it a cheaper alternative. Immersion is recommended for protecting unassembled wood. Protective chemicals aim to prevent wood decay and insect infestation. For durability, coating the treated wood with varnish is recommended to preserve the preservative’s effect over the long term. The preservative may slightly tint the wood but does not function as a pigment. In covered structures (e.g., picnic gazebo), the protection lasts 1‑2 years. For city‑furniture items such as pergolas, benches, and picnic tables, the protection lasts 6 months to 1 year. Filling Varnish - Reaches sanding hardness within 2–4 hours after application (depending on ambient temperature and humidity). - Fills the wood’s pores. - Provides a smooth surface. - Reduces absorption of the final topcoat, saving time and material. - Sands easily. Gloss Varnish Provides the desired gloss appearance and slip resistance on the applied surface. Physically, it is hard, resistant to scratches and impacts; chemically, it resists water, detergents, and other chemicals. It serves as the final clear coat with a bright, high‑transparency finish.
