Wooden Children’s Playground – Classic Series Technical Specification Manufacturing of wooden playground play sets, features, dimensions… Our wooden playground play sets are manufactured from locally sourced yellow pine imported as Class 1 timber. All wood is pressure‑treated with preservative. Metal components used in the wooden play sets are powder‑coated in an electrostatic oven. Slides are made from fiberglass or polyethylene. Stair treads and landing platforms are covered with patterned rubber attached to metal frames. All of our wood‑metal children’s playground sets are TSE certified and come with a 2‑year usage warranty and a 5‑year spare‑part guarantee from the manufacturer. What Is Preservative Treatment? Preservative treatment involves impregnating wood with various chemicals to protect it from fungi, insects, and termites, extending its service life. The preservative penetrates only the sapwood; heartwood is naturally durable and does not absorb the solution. The wood must be sapwood to be treated. The treatment process varies with wood species, intended environment, and expected lifespan. In the immersion method, wood components are fully submerged in a tank of preservative solution, then allowed to dry for 24 hours. This method is fast, efficient, and economical, offering lower labor and storage costs compared to pressure‑treatment. Immersion is recommended for protecting unassembled wood parts. Protective Agent The purpose is to prevent rot and insect damage. For durability, a finish coat is recommended to maintain the preservative’s effectiveness over time. The preservative may slightly tint the wood but does not act as a pigment. In covered structures such as a picnic gazebo, protection lasts 1‑2 years. For urban fixtures such as pergolas, benches, and picnic tables, protection lasts 6 months – 1 year. Filling varnish - Reaches sandable hardness within 2–4 hours after application (may vary with temperature and humidity). - Fills wood pores. - Provides a smooth surface. - Reduces absorption of the final top coat, saving time and material. - Easy to sand. Gloss varnish - Provides the desired shine and slip resistance on the applied surface. - Physically hard, resistant to scratches and impacts; chemically resistant to water, detergents and other chemicals. - Final clear coat with high transparency and durability.
