Wood sections will be fabricated with a maximum tolerance of ±2 mm (0.1 in), and wood dimensions with a maximum tolerance of ±20 mm (0.8 in). Required wood characteristics include: - Knots: Up to four sound knots per meter, with total knot diameters not exceeding one‑quarter of the piece width. No rotted, defective, partially fused, or missing knots. - Cracks: No ring cracks. Microscopic cracks (1‑2 mm (0.1 in)) may be present. Pressure‑treated cracks within specification tolerances are allowed. - Resin Pockets: One resin pocket per meter, not exceeding 10 cm (3.9 in) in length. No dripping or pulling resin, no inner shell, no rot cavities, and no insect holes. - Manufacturing Defects: None; only permissible tolerances. - Bending: Deflection will not exceed 1/50 of the member length. - Impact Marks: Will not exceed 1/100 of the member width. - Twisting: No more than 2 mm (0.1 in) per meter. - Compression Bending: Deflection between 1/50 and 1/100 of the member length. - Sanding: All visible surfaces will be sanded clean of splinters. Anchoring: A 15 × 8 × 2 mm (0.6 x 0.3 x 0.1 in) weld will be applied to a 18 × 13 × 3 mm (0.7 x 0.5 x 0.1 in) flange on the bottom of the support legs. Two anchor holes will be drilled in a 13 × 8 × 3 mm (0.5 x 0.3 x 0.1 in) plate, and three 6 mm (0.2 in) screw holes will be drilled in each 15 × 8 × 2 mm (0.6 x 0.3 x 0.1 in) plate. Anchors will be mounted with screws to the supports and attached to the floor with steel dowels, preventing water contact with the wood and securing the support legs. Gazebo anchors will be fabricated by welding flanges at least 2.5 mm (0.1 in) thick around a minimum of two sides. Six special screws will be installed on each leg for the vertical connection, and two dowelled screws per leg for floor attachment. All metal parts will be powder‑coated with polyester‑based paint and baked.
