Wood Specifications: The lumber used for manufacturing will be first‑grade Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) timber. Wood sections will be fabricated with a maximum tolerance of ± 2 mm (0.1 in), and wood dimensions with a maximum tolerance of ± 20 mm (0.8 in). Desired wood characteristics include the following: - Knots: Up to four sound knots per meter, with total knot diameters not exceeding one‑quarter of the piece width. No rotten, split, partially fused, or fallen knots are allowed. - Cracks: No ring cracks; fine hairline cracks (1‑2 mm (0.1 in)) may be present within specification limits. - Resin Pockets: One resin pocket per meter, not exceeding 10 cm (3.9 in) in length; no leaking or pulling resin, inner shell, rot holes, insect holes, or manufacturing defects are permitted. Deviations are limited to the specified tolerances. - Bending: Deflection will not exceed 1/50 of the member length. - Impact: Impact marks will not exceed 1/100 of the member width. - Twisting: Twist will not exceed 2 mm (0.1 in) per meter of length. - Blade Bending: Tolerances between 1/50 and 1/100 of the member length. - Sanding: All visible surfaces will be sanded smooth to remove splinters. Anchoring: Each supporting foot will have a 18 × 13 × 3 mm (0.7 x 0.5 x 0.1 in) flange with a 15 × 8 × 2 mm (0.6 x 0.3 x 0.1 in) weld plate welded on top. Two anchor holes will be drilled into a 13 × 8 × 3 mm (0.5 x 0.3 x 0.1 in) plate, and three 6 mm (0.2 in) screw holes will be drilled into each 15 × 8 × 2 mm (0.6 x 0.3 x 0.1 in) plate. Anchors will be bolted to the underside of the supports and attached to the floor with steel dowels, preventing water contact with the wood and securing the support legs. Gazebo anchors will be fabricated by welding flanges with a minimum 2.5 mm (0.1 in) weld bead, wrapping at least two sides of each leg. Six special screws will be installed per leg for the anchor-to-leg connection, and two dowel screws per leg for the floor connection. All metal components will be finished with polyester‑based powder coating applied in a furnace.
