It is semi‑transparent, pliable, and highly durable. Its low cost and excellent resistance make it a favorite in industry. Polyethylene grades are classified by density and chemical composition. Mechanical properties depend on molecular weight, crystal structure, and branching type. While properties vary by grade, the material generally offers good resistance to outdoor conditions and moisture, flexibility, low mechanical strength, and superior chemical resistance. Polyethylene is used to manufacture slides, stairs, guardrails, barriers, accessories, roofs, and more. To prevent color fading, masterbatch pigments used for coloring must have a lightfastness rating of 6 or higher. The minimum wall thickness is 6 mm (0.2 in) for components subjected to pressure or friction, and 4 mm (0.2 in) for barrier or shading items that are not load‑bearing. Material distribution must be uniform, and wall‑thickness tolerances are ±5%. Carrier Construction Carrier tubes are fabricated from circular‑section steel pipes produced by cold forming to TS EN 10219‑2, TS‑6476, DIN 2394 standards, with a minimum diameter of 114 mm (4.5 in) and a minimum wall thickness of 2 mm (0.1 in). The tubes are welded by high‑frequency welding and then painted with a polyester‑based electrostatic powder coating. Electrostatic Powder Coating All metal parts are sandblasted to remove oil, dirt, and rust, creating a porous surface for optimal paint adhesion. Fine steel shot is sprayed onto the parts to open micro‑pores, then the parts are cleaned in a 70 °C, 5 % degreasing bath for 10 minutes, followed by a 50 °C, 1 % acid dip for 15 minutes. After rinsing and drying, the components are coated with polyester‑based electrostatic paint and cured in a 200–220 °C oven for 20 minutes. Finally, welded joints are painted in one continuous coat to prevent corrosion.
