Wood sections will be cut to the project with a maximum tolerance of ±2 mm (0.1 in), and overall dimensions with a maximum tolerance of ±20 mm (0.8 in). Required wood characteristics include: - Knots: Up to four solid knots per meter; knot diameters will not exceed one‑quarter of the piece width. No rot, defective, partially fused, or fallen knots. - Cracks: No ring cracks; fine hair cracks (1‑2 mm (0.1 in)) may be present. Pressure‑treated specifications allow head and length cracks within tolerance limits. - Resin pockets: No resin pocket longer than 10 cm (3.9 in), at most one per meter. No dripping or pulling resin, no inner shell, no rot cavities, no insect holes. - Manufacturing defects: None; deviations only within specified tolerances. - Bending: Deflection will not exceed 1/50 of the piece length. - Impact: Impact marks will not exceed 1/100 of the piece width. - Twisting: Twist will not exceed 2 mm (0.1 in) per meter. - Bowing: Bow will be tolerated between 1/50 and 1/100 of the piece length. - Sanding: All visible surfaces will be sanded smooth to remove splinters.
