Wood Specifications: - Lumber: first‑grade Yellow Pine (Pinus sylvestris) timber. - Wood sections are cut with a maximum tolerance of ±2 mm (0.1 in); overall dimensions with a maximum tolerance of ±20 mm (0.8 in). - Knots: each piece may contain up to four solid knots; knot diameters will not exceed one‑quarter of the part width. No rot, split, partially grown, or fallen knots. - Cracks: ring cracks are prohibited; hairline cracks (1–2 mm (0-0.1 in)) are permitted. Acceptable head and longitudinal cracks may appear in pressure‑treated environments within tolerance limits. - Resin pockets: one per piece, not longer than 10 cm (3.9 in). No dripping, pulling resin, inner core, rot cavities, or insect holes. - No manufacturing defects; only deviations within the specified tolerances are allowed. - Deflection: bending will not exceed 1/50 of the part length; impact marks will not exceed 1/100 of the part width. - Twist: will not exceed 2 mm (0.1 in) per meter of length. - Flexure to the grain: tolerated between 1/50 and 1/100 of the part length. - Sanding: all visible surfaces are sanded smooth to remove splinters.
