Each rope consists of six strands, each wrapped around a robust core containing a total of 144 steel reinforcement wires, with each strand encased in a polyamide sleeve that includes a 24‑steel‑wire reinforcement. At each end, an aluminum sleeve is attached to the cable, terminated with a galvanized steel wear‑resistant rod and a connection loop. Edge ropes will contain steel cables wrapped around a robust core for a total of 168 steel reinforcement wires, replacing the polyamide core. Binding Balls: A single compressed aluminum ball, compressed with a 150,000‑pound (667 kN) force, will be used to prevent the connector form from moving and to avoid premature cable wear. Lamination Surface: A 13 mm (0.5 in) thick rubber pad reinforced with fabric, attached to the cable with rubber‑lined two‑piece bolted aluminum connectors that have drainage holes to reduce rope wear.
