Water or moisture absorption is near zero. The cutting plate can be used especially in industrial kitchens and as a butcher’s cutting block. This material is also weldable. It is softer and less rigid than polyproylene and PVC. The defining property of polyethylene (HDPE) is its molecular weight. Molecular weights are grouped into low, high, and ultra‑high (PE 300, PE 500, PE 1000). PE 1000, in particular, offers outstanding wear resistance. It provides excellent durability when operating against metals. Spring: The spring is made from elastic 4–6 wire helical 60SiCr8 steel. It has a minimum material diameter of Ø18 mm (0.7 in) ± 1 mm (0 in) and an outer diameter of Ø150 mm (5.9 in) ± 10 mm (0.4 in). During steel spring extension, the clearance between two points is at least about 15 mm (0.6 in). The spring’s deflection capability is limited to a maximum of 30° relative to the tangent surface to prevent overturning.
