Wood Features: - The wood material used for manufacturing will be 1st‑grade Yellow Pine (Pinus sylvestris) lumber. - Wood sections will be fabricated with a maximum tolerance of ±2 mm (0.1 in), and wood dimensions with a maximum tolerance of ±20 mm (0.8 in), to suit the project. - Wood specifications for manufacturing include knots: up to four solid knots may be present per meter. Knot diameters will not exceed one‑quarter of the total piece width. - Rot, defects, partially fused or fallen knots will not be present. - Cracks: Ring cracks will not be present. Hairline cracks up to 1–2 mm (0-0.1 in) may be present. Pressure‑treated specifications may allow acceptable lengthwise and crosswise cracks, provided they remain within tolerance limits. - Resin pockets: No more than one per meter, not exceeding 10 cm (3.9 in) in length. Leaking or pulling resin will not be present. - No interior shell, rot cavities, or insect holes will be present. - Manufacturing defects will be absent; only deviations within the specified tolerances are permitted. - Deflection: Will not exceed 1/50 of the piece length. - Impact deformation: Will not exceed 1/100 of the piece width. - Twist: Will not exceed 2 mm (0.1 in) per meter of length. - Tip bending: Tolerated between 1/50 and 1/100 of the piece length. - Sanding: All visible surfaces will be sanded and cleared of splinters. Wood Supports: - Support legs will be made from pine lumber sized at least 40 × 90 mm (1.6 x 3.5 in), shaped with diamond‑tipped special knives and provided with decorative motifs.
